Jupiter Chronicles

Leonardo Ramirez is a husband, a father, a Karate instructor with a 3rd degree black belt, and a writer. His first graphic novel, Haven, is a supernatural Young Adult story centered on an ancient war between the Dante family and the nine circles of hell. His follow up is the first in a Children’s Steampunk series called The Jupiter Chronicles: The Secret of the Great Red Spot. It follows the adventure of two children as they are transported to the steam-powered cities of Jupiter, find their long-lost father, stop an attack from Mars, and witness the birth of Steampunk.

From his humble beginnings in Bronx, New York, he’s bootstrapped his way into the hearts of science fiction/fantasy readers—young and old alike. This is truly a man who understands that life is for the living and he helps every one of his readers live life to the fullest through the wonderful adventures of his written word! His heart and motive have always been for people who are hurting. These can be kids who have had to suffer through child abuse or neglect or an absent parent which can be equally torturous as was the case in The Jupiter Chronicles. It can also be young girls who have suffered an assault like Haven did in the prose YA novel, HAVEN OF DANTE. Those are the kids and adults he wants to speak to because he’s been there.

His parents were divorced when Leonardo turned ten years old and what followed after was a tumultuous life filled with hardship that included poverty, abuse and homelessness.

But there is hope. And fun! His passion now is writing Steampunk for reluctant readers 3rd grade and up. Although the author will tell you that the “kid at heart” crowd has been enjoying it as well. “We need to keep Steampunk alive and well for the next generation,” he states.

When Ian was a young boy, he and his sister Callie discovered their secret; they were the son and daughter of a Jovian king whose world had been subjugated by the evil Lord Phobos of Mars. After a great battle was fought they returned to the steam-powered world of Jupiter where Fireflights and
Skyrockets rule the air. At the heart of this world are the orbs of water, fire and wind which bring balance and a new birth should it ever be destroyed by calamity or war. The location of each orb is guarded inside of the Book of Worlds along with the history of the Jovian Realms.

In the midst of this, a young boy struggles to find his place with no father to guide him in a world powered by steam. That destiny will finally give Ian the answer to the question he’s been asking himself all of his life.

"Why did my father leave me?"
