I work at many steampunk events as of the last few months, and I model steampunk gear but I don't know much about it, which is a horrendous shame. I always felt like I could be Victorian (god knows my hair wants me to be) and the steampunk crowd is usually welcoming but I want to know more so I do not sound uneducated before my next few jobs. I love people and I want to share my knowledge/ get more knowledge. Hoot!

You've certainly chosen the right community!!! I recommend Lady Rayna Keller's blog on here. She brings up a lot of topics that are often discussed and tossed around in Steampunk culture. You'll find that our main chat room is very welcoming. We're from all over the country and farther even with some people from the UK. You'll also find different ranges of steampunk here as well. Some of us go for the more English steampunk while other's pick and pull from the Wild west or civil war. Captain Lachlan Bellraven who welcomed you does some really unique stuff with a 19th century Cajun/Louisiana concept. We also have a bit of space steampunk in Sgt. Ian Macbruich's blog. Either way, if you have any questions, feel free to ask us. We've all been new to the community before and none of us forget how it feels to dip our toes in for the first time. Also, I know you must hear this often but you are SO gorgeous. haha Have a nice day ^^
